This unit once installed is pretty attractive. It has a lot of loose plastic parts in its joints, so when configuring the light, it feels really cheap, and you notice everything going out of place. Once tightened things look and feel solid.

Know that this is not a source of primary light. This is meant to be a ambient light or accent light. The inside of the light cage is brown, so light will be absorbed and reflect darker. I have a Phillips gen 3 bulb in reading mode at 100%, and it still looks very dim relatively to my overhead light with the same bulb - the differences being the brown cage paint, the focused angle of light downward, and maybe the fixture electrical themselves. I like this by my reading couch, but don't mistake it for something to be used for studying or anything like that.
